Many people talk about self-sabotage, usually without connecting to what is driving the thoughts or behaviors they are experiencing. Most people do not dig deeper into how to overcome their patterns of self-sabotage in their lives. Self-sabotaging behavior occurs when it creates problems in our daily lives and interferes with achieving our goals. Self-sabotage frequently shows up in reaching weight loss goals and can include procrastination and comfort eating. People aren’t always aware that they are sabotaging themselves. Connecting the behavior to the common scenarios and influencers is a good way to shine a light on this limiting mindset. It is possible to overcome almost any form of self-sabotage. Emerging from the shadow of self-sabotage empowers us to make a choice to disengage from self-destructive behavior and create healthy boundaries.
